I understand how Trauma, whether from childhood or in adulthood, can have a huge impact on your life. The emotional wounds left by traumatic experiences can affect relationships, self-esteem, mental health and overall well-being.

Having lived with trauma myself, and having personal counselling around this, I have first hand experience of how counselling can help with trauma (and in some cases, change your life).

 

Trauma and trauma responses can develop as a child and go with a person into adulthood. Through counselling you can work out what your trauma is and how it has affected you, and how it continues to affect you in your life now. For many people, counselling is the only place where they have felt understood and listened to, and be in a place where patterns of behaviour can be changed, leading to living a happier and fuller life as result of counselling.

We'll work together to safely confront any traumatic memories, and this will help to reduce the power they have over you, and allow you to see them as part of your past, rather than something that defines you and your future.

Healing from Trauma involves developing new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving, as well as building resilience and coping skills to manage the affects of Trauma (such as anxiety and depression). We'll work together to empower you with the strategies and tools you need to navigate through life moving forward.
